How Grand Rapids Epoxy Flooring Pros Works
Grand Rapids Epoxy Flooring Pros installs resin floor coatings on concrete: garage floors, basements, shops and commercial floors in Grand Rapids and across Kent County and West Michigan. We work with epoxy, polyaspartic and flake broadcast systems, and we pick the system after we have seen the slab, not before.
Most coating failures come from the concrete underneath, not the product on top. A garage slab that has taken years of salty meltwater can be scaled and contaminated at the surface. A basement slab in an older Grand Rapids house may push moisture up from the ground. A shop floor may be soaked with oil. Each of those needs a different kind of preparation, and skipping it is how coatings peel.
How we work
- We look at the slab in person, check for moisture, oil, old sealers and cracks, and measure the floor.
- You get a written quote that names the system, the coats, the prep steps and the price.
- Concrete is mechanically ground with diamond tooling so the coating has an open surface to bond to.
- Cracks, spalls and pitting are filled before the base coat goes down.
- We tell you how long to stay off the floor and when you can park on it, based on the product we use and the temperature.
- Any change to the scope is written up for you to approve before it is added.
We do not coat wood subfloors, tile or vinyl; our work is on concrete. If a slab has a problem a coating cannot fix, such as an active leak, heaving or a structural crack, we tell you that before you spend money on a floor.
